journal entry
Starting the Blog
Why this site starts as a simple Markdown blog and why learning in public is worth the friction.
The first version of this site is intentionally simple: Astro, Markdown, static output, and no backend.
That is the right starting point because the maintenance path matters. A lab journal only works if it is easy to open a file, write a note, add a photo, and ship it. The tooling should stay quiet enough that the note remains the point.
The subject matter can be wide without becoming random. AI, homelabbing, networking, dog training, guitars, photography, video editing, swords, Japanese culture, and practical tools all involve observation, repetition, constraints, and feedback.
Writing those observations down makes them easier to compare over time.
